Put simply, podcasts are radio-style shows - some from major media, others from passionate independent producers - delivered over the Web to your computer. Unlike streaming audio, which requires you to listen in real time, podcasting lets you control how and when you hear your favorite shows.

In fact, once you subscribe to a podcast (and as long as you have the right software installed) you will automatically get new episodes downloaded directly to your computer.

Podcasts cover a wide range of topics. For example, you may be interested in searching for podcasts from the "father of podcasting" Adam Curry. Or, you may be a classical music enthusiast who would love to have access to podcasts that offer discussions about and music from classical musicians. Whatever interests you have, there is a podcast out there to listen to.
